High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that uses non-ionizing ultrasonic waves to heat or ablate tissue.
The types of ultrasound that this procedure uses are specific high-energy waves to target specific areas of the body.
A HIFU treatment creates heat at a deep level in the skin. This heat damages targeted skin cells, causing the body to try to repair them. To do this, the body produces collagen to aid in cell regrowth.
Collagen is a substance in the skin that gives it structure and elasticity.
HIFU can help tighten the skin on the neck,
Reduces the appearance of jowls, lifts drooping eyelids or eyebrows, smoothens wrinkles on the face, smoothens and tightens chest skin as well as skin on the stomach reducing the appearance of stretch marks, to name a few.
The procedure takes about 30 to 45 minutes with absolutely no recovery time.
